Traventuria

A Bulgarian adventure travel company with a genuinely wide range of services - tours, transfers, ski rentals - and, like the clients we work with longest, a relentless standard for both the trip itself and the systems running underneath it.

The brief

Traventuria isn't an ordinary travel company. Tour packages, transport and transfers, ski and board equipment rental - a genuinely wide range of services, run by a team that strives for perfection in the trip itself and in everything behind it.

We started small and specific: ski and board equipment is a strange category to sell - there's a huge second-hand market, sizes and condition vary constantly, and Traventuria was tracking thousands of listings across eBay, Shopify and their own site by hand. We built the system that kept stock levels and listings in sync across all three.

That first system worked, and the feedback was good enough that it became a partnership rather than a project - five years and counting of finding the next place technology was quietly getting in the way of a good trip.

The challenge
  • 01Ski and board equipment inventory scattered across a large second-hand market, with thousands of listings live on eBay, Shopify and Traventuria's own site at once.
  • 02Bookings arriving from more than fifteen different OTAs and booking sites, each with its own calendar to keep in sync by hand.
  • 03Tours that look simple from the outside and aren't: shared guides and vehicles, variable schedules, late flights, and dependencies where one delay cascades into the next booking.
  • 04Guest-facing moments - the audio guide on the bus, the check-in at the rental counter - that had to feel effortless while a lot of operational complexity ran underneath them.
Goals we agreed on
  • +One accurate view of ski and board stock, wherever it's listed for sale.
  • +Every booking channel feeding the same calendar, so nothing gets double-booked and nothing sits empty.
  • +Resource planning that accounts for real-world chaos - late flights, shared equipment, back-to-back tours - so a guest never lands to find their tour cancelled or already gone.
  • +A guest experience, from the audio guide to check-in, that feels concierge-level even when the operation behind it is anything but simple.

Nobody wants to land in a foreign country at midnight and find out their tour already left without them. That's the failure mode everything we built was designed to make impossible.

What we built

Six systems, added one at a time over five years as trust grew from a single inventory problem into most of Traventuria's operation.

6 systems
Inventory

Ski & board equipment stock

Thousands of listings kept in sync across eBay, Shopify and Traventuria's own site, in a category with a huge second-hand market and constantly shifting stock.

Booking

Channel management

One calendar behind more than 15 OTAs and booking sites, so a slot sold on one channel disappears from all the others immediately.

Planning

Resource planning

Guides, vehicles and equipment allocated around real schedules - shared resources, late flights and the dependencies between them - so demand is met without overbooking or sitting idle.

Guide

Interactive audio guides

The walkman handed out on a bus, replaced by an app on the guest's own phone - audio, maps and information that make a tour engaging from the moment they step on board.

Feedback

Feedback & monitoring

Real-time customer feedback cross-referenced with operational data, turning into insights that show up directly as bonuses, penalties, promotions or terminations - not a survey nobody reads.

Check-in

Guest check-in

Equipment sizes, extra luggage, special requests and every other specific of a tour or ski rental handled in one flow, so each guest gets a concierge-level welcome.

How we worked

Not a single build - five years of Traventuria trusting us with the next piece once the last one proved itself.

01

Start narrow, earn the rest

The ski and board inventory system came first, solving one specific, painful problem before we were trusted with anything bigger.

02

Booking and planning

Channel management brought fifteen-plus OTAs onto one calendar; resource planning followed, built for the shared guides, vehicles and schedules a tour actually depends on.

03

The guest-facing layer

Audio guides and check-in turned operational complexity into something guests never see - just a smoother trip from the moment they arrive.

04

Closing the loop

The feedback and monitoring system ties customer experience back to operational data, so what guests actually felt becomes something the business can act on.

More than the code

As with most of the clients we stay with longest, Traventuria's standard for their own work set the standard for ours.

Perfection as the baseline

Traventuria pushes for the best in the travel experience itself, not just the technology around it - a standard that raised what we were willing to ship them.

Five years and still finding gaps

The relationship didn't end when the first system shipped. Every project has led to the next, because there was always another place technology was quietly getting in the way.

An ongoing partnership

We're still working with Traventuria today, looking for the next place a good trip is being held back by a bad system.

Stack & integrations

Chosen to hold together a genuinely wide set of systems - inventory, bookings, resource planning and guest experience - talking to each other and to more than fifteen external booking channels.

Where it stands now

The partnership is ongoing. Six systems in and five years on, we're still looking for the next place technology can make a Traventuria trip better - for the guest and for the team running it.

You have a project. We have the time.
